Janmashtami, this festival marks the birth of Lord Krishna, the eighth incarnation of Lord Vishnu. It is a celebration of the divine play (leela) that symbolizes the triumph of good over evil, love over hatred, and righteousness over unrighteousness. Krishna’s teachings emphasise the importance of doing one’s duty without attachment to the results (Nishkama Karma). His message of universal love, compassion, and selfless service transcends all boundaries and remains ever- relevant in today’s world. Let us immerse ourselves in the divine spirit of Janmashtami and embrace the values that Krishna exemplified and strive to incorporate them into our lives.
