Deepotsav- Ek Shaam Shastriya Sangeet ke Naam was held at the state-of-the-art auditorium of DPS Gaya on 27th October 2024. The event was organised by the Magadh Educational Trust Gaya and Sur Salila Gayaji Trust Gaya. The enchanting evening featured mesmerising performances by renowned artists from the Banaras Gharana, Padmashree Shreemati Malini Awasthi (vocalist), Pandit Dharmnath Mishra (harmonium), Pandit Ram Kumar Mishra (tabla), and Shri Vinayak Sahay (sarangi). Malini Awasthis soulful voice filled the auditorium, transporting the audience to the realms of Indian classical music, Pandit Dharmnath Mishra on the harmonium and Pandit Ram Kumar Mishras mastery over tabla created a powerful synergy, while Shri Vinayak Sahays unmatched dexterity on the sarangi embellished the compositions. The convergence of these maestros enthralled the audience with their seamless blend of raagas and taals, leaving everyone mesmerised by the charm and richness of the Banaras Gharana. The event was graced by Shri Ram Naresh Sharma, Chairman of Magadh Educational Trust Gaya, Mr. Sanjeev Kumar, Pro-Vice Chairman of DPS Gaya, and Mr. Satyendra Mishra, Principal of DPS Gaya, alongside other esteemed dignitaries. As a token of gratitude, DPS Gaya presented mementos to all the performers, honouring their unparalleled contribution to the proliferation of Indian classical music.
