Rashtriya Jal Mission- A Pledge to Conserve Water

Water is lifes matter and matrix, mother and medium. There is no life without water. The Ministry of Jal Shakti launched the Jal Shakti Abhiyan (JSA) in 2019 to raise awareness about water conservation. This campaign was initiated to mobilize public participation in water conservation and management, especially in water-stressed areas across India. The Jal Shakti Abhiyan promoted water conservation practices such as rainwater harvesting, rejuvenating traditional water bodies, watershed development, and efficient water use in agriculture. On 28 June 2024, Delhi Public School Gaya played a significant role in the nationwide campaign initiated by the Ministry of Jal Shakti to promote water conservation. Students were not just given the pledge to conserve water, but also tasked with raising awareness about it among their family members, friends, and neighbours, thereby becoming the driving force of the campaign.
