Mahavir Jayanti Celebration: A Tribute to Lord Mahavir

April 22nd, 2024

Mahavir Jayanti is a celebration that commemorates the birth anniversary of Lord Mahavir, the 24th and last Tirthankara of Jainism. Lord Mahavir was born in 599 BCE in Vaishali, Bihar, and he increased the central tenets of Jainism. He rearticulated the philosophical beliefs of Jainism, and his teachings are still relevant today. DPS Gaya organized a special assembly on April 22, 2024, to commemorate the birth anniversary of Lord Mahavir. The assembly highlighted the significance of Lord Mahavirs life and teachings in todays world, where conflicts and aggression are prevalent. Students presented speeches on principles of non-violence, truthfulness, and compassion that Lord Mahavir advocated after attaining enlightenment. The assembly also included prayers and songs that underscored the importance of his teachings. The honourable Principal, the Sir, encouraged students to follow in the footsteps of Lord Mahavir and become the harbingers of harmony and peace in this world.
