Saraswati Puja: A Celebration of Knowledge

William Shakespeare said, Ignorance is the curse of God; knowledge is the wing wherewith we fly to heaven. Maa Saraswati is the goddess of knowledge, intelligence and wisdom. Delhi Public School Gaya and its Junior Wing organized a host of colorful events with boundless enthusiasm to venerate Maa Saraswati on the eve of Saraswati Puja, also known as Basant Panchami on February 13, 2024. Chanting of shloka to seek the blessings of Maa Saraswati filled the entire atmosphere with celestial exuberance. Following the chanting of shloka, speeches in Hindi and English beautifully underlined the significance of Saraswati Puja. Students presented a mellifluous rendition of group song that aptly paid homage to the goddess of learning. Remarkably choreographed group dance augmented the grandeur of the celebration. The idol of Maa Saraswati was placed on the stage in the school auditorium, adorned with beautiful flowers. The pujan ceremony with all the rituals and chanting of shlokas took place on February 14, 2024. The esteemed Principal of the school, Mr. Satyendra Kumar Mishra encouraged the students to abdicate ignorance and always be in pursuit to attain knowledge and wisdom. He also underscored the importance of knowledge and wisdom to dispel darkness from the world. Respected Pro-Vice Chairman Sir, Mr. Sanjeev Kumar highlighted the significance of Saraswati Puja as a cultural and religious celebration that underscores the importance of knowledge and wisdom.
