National Youth Parliament Competition/Kishore Sabha 2023

Delhi Public School Gaya organized National Youth Parliament Competition/Kishore Sabha on November 29, 2023 on the theme “Ideas for a Better Tomorrow: India for the World”. Students from Classes IX to XII assiduously participated in the competition. At the outset the Chief Guest of the programme, Dr. Sudhanshu Kumar Jha, Head of Department, The Department of Historical Studies and Archaeology was accorded a floral welcome. With the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, the further proceedings of the event unfolded. The Chief Guest of the programme, Dr. Sudhanshu Kumar Jha in his address, expressed his deep concern over the democracy deficit in India, but strongly asserted that the deliberations of the NYPC 2023 will become the catalyst for positive change in Indian parliamentary democracy. He remarked that the rise of India in the new global order will redefine diplomacy and geopolitics. He encouraged the students to embrace their responsibilities and become the harbinger of hope for our nation. The honourable Principal of the school, Mr. Satyendra Kumar Mishra underscored the indispensability of leadership qualities for the equitable development of a nation. He hoped that the different perspectives of students on parliamentary democracy will resonate beyond the school and contribute to the nation building. Subsequently, the parliamentary proceedings commenced wherein all the participants showcased extraordinary articulation and critical thinking during debates and discussions pertaining to the theme of “Ideas for a Better Tomorrow: India for the World”. The debates and discussions encapsulated a litany of topics related to the parliamentary democracy in India. The programme was envisioned to acquaint the students with the practices and procedures of Parliament, techniques of discussion and debate and develop self-confidence, leadership quality and showcase the finesse of their oratory skills. The valedictory ceremony concluded with the vote of thanks.
