Dressed to Impress: The Grandeur of Fancy Dress Competition

December 01st, 2023

Helen Keller said, The most beautiful world is entered through imagination. Apart from dressing up as different characters or objects, Fancy Dress Competition assumes a great significance for the young kids in their formative years in school. It substantially augments their imaginative ingenuity through impersonation of the individuality of characters or objects they portray on the stage. Delhi Public School Gaya organized the First Day of the Fancy Dress Competition on December 1, 2023 with unrestrained effervescence. At the outset, the Chief Guest of the programme, Mrs. Arti Singh, a renowned Philosophist and spouse of Inspector General of Police, Magadh Range, Mr. Kshatraneel Singh along with the Principal of the school, Mr. Satyendra Mishra was accorded floral welcome followed by the lighting of the spiritual lamp. Mellifluous rendition of the Welcome Song by the students of class II enthralled the audience. The honourable Principal of the school in his address applauded the relentless efforts of teachers and mentors for instilling conviction in young kids, enabling them to perform on the stage. He termed the event as a celebration of enormous talent and creativity. Day One (morning shift) of the competition witnessed charismatic performances from the tiny tots of Pre-Nursery and Nursery. The young kids dressed-up as various characters or objects and spoke about them with the finesse of oratory skills. The young toddlers of Pre-Nursery beautifully bedecked themselves as Cartoon Characters, Birds and Insects, Plants and Flowers and Characters from Nursery Rhymes. Meanwhile, participants from Nursery portrayed themselves as Tribal People of Different Indian States, Great Indian ISRO Scientists, Sports Personalities, Aquatic Animals and Endangered Animals. Closing Dance performed by the students of Class II with exceptional finesse on the stage beautifully summed up the entire event. The esteemed Pro-Vice Chairman of DPS Gaya, Mr. Sanjeev Kumar commended the confidence, stage presence and creative prowess of young toddlers.
