Diwali celebration at DPS Gaya

Diwali is the Festival of light and clarity. It is a festival dedicated to bringing clarity and dispelling the darkness within us. It was the day when the dark forces were defeated and light prevailed. The Diwali celebration at DPS Gaya means a festive look, with diyas and lanterns adorning the classrooms. The activities imbue the school premises with an atmosphere of togetherness and hope. To mark the occasion, a special assembly was organized on Thursday, 9th November 2023. The toddlers of Pre-nursery to class II participated in the Diwali celebration with immeasurable exuberance. Speeches in Hindi and English underscored the mythological significance of Diwali while Theme Based Song and Dance augment the celebratory spirit of the festival. Students of Classes III to V celebrated the festival of Diwali with great enthusiasm. The young students proved that creativity and talent do not have boundaries. The program started with a short introduction by the comperes, followed by English and Hindi speeches by the students. The students talked about the significance of the festival- how good always conquers evil. They shared their beautiful thoughts that filled our hearts and minds with love and harmony, and also discussed why and how Diwali is celebrated across India. Besides sensitizing students about the ill-effects of crackers, they also shared guidelines for environmental-friendly options for celebrating Diwali. The speeches were followed by a song creating euphony and a soulful rendition by the students. Students of classes VI to VIII came together to celebrate the Festival of Lights and the auspicious Chhath Puja. The soulful chanting of Shloka on Goddess Lakshmi marked the beginning of the celebration with spirituality. Hindi and English speeches along with mesmerizing rendition of Group Song amplified the spirit of Diwali celebration. Moreover, beautifully choreographed Group Dance captivated the audience with its elegance portrayal. Mr. S.K Mishra, the honourable principal of the school, in his speech, appreciated the students and mentors for their performances and hard work. He also emphasized the importance of a pollution-free Diwali. The wonderful presentation of the assembly by the students instilled a sense of victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, good over evil, and hope over despair.
