Heritage Walk to Sujata Garh

UNESCO says, Heritage is our legacy, what we live with today, and what we pass on to future generations. Our natural and cultural heritage are both irreplaceable sources of life and inspiration. Indias rich and diverse cultural heritage invokes interminable pride in us. Our rich cultural heritage is a confluence of varied cultures, religions and beliefs. In order to galvanize students about our rich cultural heritage, Delhi Public School Gaya organized a Heritage Walk to the Sujata Garh on October 13, 2023. Students of Classes VII participated in this heritage walk. Sujata Garh is a Buddhist Stupa, which holds a great significance in a Buddhism. The stupa traces its history to the 2nd century BCE. It is believed that a milkmaid, Sujata fed Gautam Buddha with milk and ended his seven years of fasting. Sujata Stupa is venerated for Sujatas altruism for Lord Buddha and thereby helped him to attain enlightenment. Mr. Satyendra Mishra, the honourable Principal of the school motivated the students to preserve our rich and diverse cultural heritage. He also underlined the importance of organizing more such events to strengthen the legacy of our rich and diversified cultural heritage.
