SPIC MACAY SYMPHONY MEET 2023

SPIC MACAY is a non-political, nationwide, voluntary movement founded in 1977 by Dr. Kiran Seth, Professor-Emeritus at IIT Delhi. He was awarded the Padma Shri for his contribution to the arts in 1999. The Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Amongst Youth (SPIC MACAY) has been striving tirelessly to enrich the legacy of Indian classic arts. It endeavors to enlighten todays youth about our rich cultural heritage. SPIC MACAY SYMPHONY MEET 2023 was held at Delhi Public School Gaya on August 25, 2023 to promote Indias rich cultural heritage. The school auditorium resonated with mesmerizing Santoor Recitals by Pt. Tarun Bhattacharya, a Santoor virtuoso and Pt. Ramkumar Mishra who is an exponent of Tabla. The event commenced with the customary Lighting the Lamp Ceremony, bestowing a spiritual initiation. Both the distinguished music maestros were accorded floral welcome. Following the welcome speech, both the connoisseurs of Indian Classical Music enthralled the audience with their majestic performances. The soul-stirring symphony of Santoor and Tabla inimitably captivated the audience. Followed by their superlative performance, both the artists were presented mementos by the honourable Principal of the school, Mr. Satyendra Mishra as tokens of gratitude. At the end, he exhorted the young generation to follow in the footsteps of SPIC MACAY and strive to preserve the legacy of Indian classic arts.
