DPS Gaya Celebrates 24th Anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas

Delhi Public School Gaya and its Junior Wing (City Branch) celebrated Kargil Vijay Diwas to remember Indias victory in the Kargil War and to pay tribute to Kargil Martyrs who are the epitome of supreme courage and sacrifice. Students of Pre-primary wing and PN to Class II participated in the programme in a very synchronised manner. Students sang patriotic song and filled the entire atmosphere with patriotism. A model representing the Kargil Mountains conquered by Indian Army was displayed in the human form under the guidance of the Department of Physical Education. It was beautifully exhibited by the teachers depicting the Kargil war scene. Entire staff members along with the students paid homage to the soldiers of Kargil War through a group dance. The power point presentation by the teachers made the event informative and enlightening. It explained to the students about the significance of Kargil Vijay Diwas and the sacrifices of Kargil heroes, which was also followed by inspirational and emotional pictures of the war. Students were literally in tears, after watching the heart touching performances at the programme. The event underlined that patriotism is a social value, the feeling of patriotism is to be inculcated at school level to make sure that student becomes the responsible citizen of our Nation. Head mistress Ms Asha Jabeen Baba appreciated the initiatives and efforts of the students. The tiny tots also participated in various activities in their classrooms aimed at rekindling the spirit of patriotism. Honourable Principal Sir, Mr. Satyendra Mishra highlighted the significance of Kargil Vijay Diwas and paid his obeisance to the great martyrs of the war. Respected Pro-Vice Chairman Sir, Mr. Sanjeev Kumar paid homage to the bravehearts of the Kargil War and encouraged the students to let the flame of patriotism forever ignite in their hearts and souls.
