Fancy Dress Competition for Prep

The renowned philosopher Jean-Jacques Rousseau said, “Imagination is the beginning of creation. You imagine what you desire, you will what you imagine and at last you create what you will." Fancy dress competition is not merely wearing fanciful dresses, but a vital aspect of learning in the formative years of young children in school. It substantially augments the imaginative prowess of young toddlers through nuanced imitation of the individuality of characters or objects they portray on the stage. Delhi Public School Gaya organized the first day of the “Fancy Dress Competition” on February 16, 2023 with unparalleled exuberance. At the outset, Principal sir, Mr. Satyendra Kumar Mishra was felicitated with a bouquet followed by the lighting of the divine lamp. The soulful rendition of the “Welcome Song” by the students of class II enraptured the audience. Day one (afternoon shift) of the competition witnessed enchanting performances of students of Prep. The young kids dressed-up as various characters or objects and spoke about them with the finesse of oratory skills. Students of Prep portrayed themselves as things of daily use, characters from Noddy and their favourite cartoon characters. Principal sir in his address applauded the young kids for performing on the stage with exceptional confidence. He reinforced that education is not just the accumulation of degrees or diplomas, but also how we perform in our day-to-day life. He praised the indefatigable efforts teachers and headmistresses for instilling conviction in young kids, enabling them to perform so immaculately on the stage. Pro-Vice Chairman DPS Gaya, Mr. Sanjeev Kumar heaped adulation on the young toddlers for portraying various characters on stage with sheer confidence, stage presence and creative ingenuity.
