Ashoka Annual House Function

Delhi Public School Gaya as it celebrated the “Annual Ashoka House Function” on February 10, 2023 with immeasurable grandeur. The cultural extravaganza was enriched by the gracious presence of the Chief Guest of the event, Prof. Kameshwar Nath Singh, Vice-Chancellor, Central University of South Bihar, Gaya, the Guest of Honour, Shri Ram Naresh Sharma, Chairman, Magadh Educational Trust, Gaya, Pro- Vice Chairman, DPS Gaya, Mr. Sanjeev Kumar, Principal, DPS Gaya, Mr. Satyendra Kumar Mishra and other distinguished invitees. At the commencement of the event, Principal, Delhi Public School Gaya, accorded a floral welcome to the Chief Guest, Prof. Kameshwar Nath Singh and the Guest of Honour, Shri Ram Naresh Sharma. With all the flamboyance, the grand spectacle embarked on its breathtaking sojourn with the soulful rendition of the Welcome Song “Hope and Faith”. All the eminent dignitaries were then invited to illuminate the divine lamp to provide an auspicious beginning to the cultural extravaganza. Welcome Dance “Guru Vandana” was immaculately performed to venerate Guru who is the embodiment of knowledge and wisdom. The yoga performance “Anadi Ananta” dedicated to Lord Shiva who is beyond the realms of space and time, mesmerized the audience with its elegant and powerful postures. The Hindi Skit “Gayasur ki Katha” underscored the historical and mythological significance of Gaya. The skit provided deeper understanding of the mythological existence of Gayasur and Vishnupad Temple. The annual report presented by the Principal, DPS Gaya highlighted the school’s achievements in both academic and co-curricular activities. He lauded the indefatigable efforts of the management, teachers and parents for the school’s enviable journey of success. He assured parents of ascending to even greater height of success in future. Close on the heels of the presentation of the Annual Report, all the achievers of the Ashoka House were awarded with certificates, medals and trophies in various categories. Close on the heels of the award ceremony, the Chief Guest, Prof. Kameshwar Nath Singh addressed the audience. He lauded the unwavering pursuit of the school for establishing itself as a center of excellence. He gave a deeper insight into the National Education Policy 2020 and pitched for the holistic development of students. He encouraged students to realize three dreams- to establish themselves, to establish their families and contribute to the development of the society. The Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour were conferred with a mementos as an expression of gratitude. The dance “Unity in Diversity” beautifully portrayed the rich and diverse cultural heritage of India. The song “Mahabharata” illustrated the unquestionable truth that righteousness always triumphs immorality. The English Skit “Enlightenment” lent credence to the discovery of the self through the attainment of rationality. The dance performance “Nritya Kala Yatra” riveted the audience with the elegance of facial expressions and footsteps dancing to the tune of the song. The song “Hey Chhathi Maiya” underscored the significance of Chhath Puja for the state of Bihar. The song truly mesmerized the audience with the stirring depiction of the theme of the event. The cultural extravaganza culminated with the Vote of Thanks followed by the National Anthem.
