Buddha Annual House Function

Delhi Public School Gaya as it celebrated the “Annual Buddha House Function” on February 11, 2023 with unrivalled enthusiasm. The cultural fiesta was enriched by the gracious presence of the Chief Guest of the event, Shri H K Gupta, Commandant, 29 Battalion, SSB, Gaya, the Guest of Honour, Shri Ram Naresh Sharma, Chairman, Magadh Educational Trust, Gaya, Pro- Vice Chairman DPS Gaya, Mr. Sanjeev Kumar, Principal DPS Gaya, Mr. Satyendra Kumar Mishra and other eminent invitees. At the commencement of the event, Principal, DPS Gaya, accorded a floral welcome to the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour. With all the verve, the grand extravaganza set off for its magnificent sojourn with the soulful rendition of the Welcome Song “Gautam Buddha”. All the eminent dignitaries then illuminated the divine lamp to provide a propitious beginning to the cultural extravaganza. Welcome Dance “Rudra Naamam” was beautifully presented to venerate Lord Shiva who is the embodiment of destruction and regeneration. The yoga performance “Anadi Ananta” dedicated to Lord Shiva who is beyond the realms of space and time, mesmerized the audience with its elegant and powerful postures. The Hindi Skit “Gayasur ki Katha” underscored the historical and mythological significance of Gaya. The skit provided deeper understanding of the mythological existence of Gayasur and Vishnupad Temple. The annual report presented by the Principal DPS Gaya highlighted the school’s achievements in both academic and co-curricular activities. He lauded the indefatigable efforts of the management, teachers and parents for the school’s enviable journey of success. He assured parents of ascending to even greater height of success in future. . He also extended his gratitude to the DPS Society and SMC-DPS Gaya. Close on the heels of the presentation of the Annual Report, all the achievers of the Chanakya House were awarded with certificates, medals and trophies in different categories. In the wake of the award ceremony, the Chief Guest, Shri H K Gupta addressed the audience. He lauded the unwavering commitment of the school for establishing itself as a center of excellence. He highlighted that students’ life is the most important phase of one’s life since their holistic development depends on their emotional, physical and social growth. He also underscored the importance of teachers as guides in a student’s life. The Chief Guest pitched for the importance of discipline in students’ life. The Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour were conferred with a mementos as expression of gratitude. The dance “Panchbhuta Namah” beautifully portrayed the theme of the event. The song “Our Motherland” invoked interminable pride for our beloved motherland. The English Skit “Enlightenment” lent credence to the discovery of the self through the attainment of rationality. The dance performance “Colour of Spring” highlighted the rejuvenation of nature after the slumberous winter. The song “Namo Namo Shankara” enlivened the auditorium with its powerful rendition, dedicated to the supreme God, Lord Shiva. The cultural extravaganza culminated with the Vote of Thanks followed by the National Anthem.
