Robotics Workshop

Resource Persons: Mr. Akash and Mr. Saurav (Lego Certified Trainers) A two-day workshop on Robotics organized by Delhi Public School Gaya on 3rd and 4th December, 2022 for the teachers of Pre-Nursery to Class V. The workshop was presided over by Lego Certified Trainers, Mr. Akash and Mr. Saurav. The workshop extensively dwelt on incorporating Lego STEAM learning i.e. coalescing Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics into the learning process. A host of collaborative and interactive activities were conducted during the two-day workshop, aimed at encouraging teachers to augment students imagination and creativity. Teachers diligently participated in interdisciplinary Lego STEAM learning activities which mandated them to arrange Lego sets into proper shapes. It was lucidly explained that STEAM learning significantly enhances Gross and Fine Motor Skills, as well as hand and eye coordination in students. Lego bricks are remarkable educational toys that can precipitate paradigm shift in the learning process of kids. They amplify children’s potential to think out of the box. Lego bricks can effectively mitigate the developmental disorders in students. The Resource Persons underscored that Lego develops various soft skills and strengthens creative thinking, teamwork, communication skills, conflict resolution and problem-solving skills. The workshop culminated in the assessment of teachers. Those who scored passing grades were certified as Lego Certified Robotics Trainers The session ended with the valedictory speech, group photograph and certificate distribution. Aligned with the aspirations of DPS Gaya, Pro-Vice Chairman, Mr. Sanjeev Kumar announced the setting- up of three Robotics cum Incubation Labs by March, 2023. Principal, Mr. Satyendra Kumar Mishra exhorted teachers to capitalize on the knowledge gained in the workshop in their teaching. He also underscored the centrality of Lego STEAM learning in the development of students.
