Cultural Walk of Gaya Dharohar

Mahatma Gandhi said, “A nation’s culture resides in the hearts and in the soul of its people.” India’s rich and diverse cultural heritage instills unparalleled pride in us. Our rich cultural heritage is a convergence of distinct cultural beliefs and religions. In order to acquaint students with rich cultural heritage, Delhi Public School, Gaya organized a “Cultural Walk of Gaya Dharohar” to the holy temple of Sujata Garh on November 12, 2022. Students of Class IX participated in this cultural walk. Sujata Garh is Buddhist Stupa which holds a great significance in Buddhism. The stupa traces its history to the 2nd century BCE. It is believed that a milkmaid, Sujata fed Gautam Buddha with milk and ended his seven years of fasting. Sujata Stupa is venerated for Sujata’s altruism for Lord Buddha and thereby helped him to attain enlightenment. Pro-Vice Chairman, Mr. Sanjeev Kumar and Principal, Mr. Satyendra Kumar Mishra encouraged students to preserve our rich and diverse cultural heritage. They also underlined the importance of organizing more such events to strengthen the legacy of our rich and diverse cultural heritage.
