Heritage Walk

UNESCO says, "Heritage is our legacy, what we live with today, and what we pass on to future generations. Our natural and cultural heritage are both irreplaceable sources of life and inspiration." Indias rich and diverse cultural heritage invokes interminable pride in us. Our rich cultural heritage is a confluence of varied cultures, religions and beliefs. In order to galvanize students about our rich cultural heritage, Delhi Public School, Gaya organized a “Heritage Walk” to the holy Dungeshwari Temple on November 9, 2022. Students of Class VII participated in this heritage walk. Dungeshwari Cave Temples which is also known as Mahakala Caves holds a great significance in Budhhism. It is believed that Gautam Buddha meditated in Dungeshwari Cave Temples for six years prior to attaining enlightenment in Bodhgaya. Students of class VII explored the temple and got a deeper insight into one of the holiest places of worship of Buddhism. They also got acquainted with the history behind the shriveled statue of Lord Buddha. Pro-Vice Chairman, Mr. Sanjeev Kumar and Principal, Mr. Satyendra Kumar Mishra motivated students to preserve our rich and diverse cultural heritage. They also underlined the importance of organizing more such events to strengthen the legacy of our rich and diverse cultural heritage.
